I may not finish all 10k before midnight tonight, but this is exactly the kind of goal I need to get me to a manageable word count for the rest of the month...
10,000 words in five hours sounds do-able, provided you don't have anything else to do and can write 1,000 words in half an hour. I now know what I"ll be doing the rest of the weekend. Good luck.

Dr. Bill Irwin is a scientist by training but a teacher by birth. His research investigates the sensory physiology and neuro-ethology of animal navigation and migration. He is attempting to transition from a writer of popular (but controversial) scientific papers to a writer of popular AND controversial fiction books so that he and Lisa (his much better half) can sail off into the Caribbean and dive all the time.
